Prime Minister Modi announced Sudha Murty’s nomination on the same day as International Women’s Day.

Murty reacted to this nomination and told CNN-News18, “It’s a big Women’s Day gift to me. It’s a new responsibility to work for the country.” Social media was abuzz with the news and Murty was also congratulated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
